Tim Hawkins LIVE (with Kenn Kington)

Tim Hawkins returns to Racine

Since giving up his job as a grocery truck driver in 2002, Tim Hawkins has been establishing himself as one of the most in-demand comedians in the country. With 300,000,000 video views online and over 100 sold-out concerts every year, his Jackwagon Crew has grown into a revolution of multi-generational proportions. But don’t take it from us...

Tim’s gut-busting comedy show entertains the entire family while doubling down on the funny, a daunting task in an age where the obscene has become routine. His act is 1 part gifted + 2 parts twisted, the only certainty being his on-the-nose observations that expose the ridiculousness of daily life while marveling in its hilarity. The perils of marriage, homeschooling, and growing up in the Midwest may not exemplify the rock star life, but they make for really good punchlines.

Sure he’s funny, but fans are often even more amazed at his singing voice and guitar chops. Tim’s hilarious music videos have brought him viral YouTube fame with fan favorites including The Chick-fil-A Song, Yoga Pants, Aging Rockers, Things You Don’t Say to Your Wife, Cletus Take the Reel, A Homeschool Family, and The Government Can. Still, Tim is no rock star: “It’s not like I have a choice. Comedy is my only life skill.”

Tim reminds us that for life’s many difficulties, laughter is always the best medicine – when the medication runs out. He just released his 9th comedy DVD, “Just About Enough”. Tim lives in Missouri with his wife and four crud muffins.

SuperStart!

In today's world, when a preteen has a question about something, they have a fountain of information available to them – online, on TV, in movies or even at school. But just because they have knowledge doesn't mean they're being led to the truth. This year SuperStart! will teach preteens how they can know the truth that only comes from Jesus. As they learn how to detect and discover truth, they'll also be challenged to share that truth with others.

What is it?

'Glow' is a special, one-day event for Middle Grade students (8 to 13-year olds) and their parents. It will include hands-on workshops where kids can pursue a wide range of interests from art to dance, athletics, fishing, music, and more. As students begin to discover who they are and where they excel, we want to show them what their gifts, passions, and abilities might look like submitted to Christ.

Why Middle Grade students?

8 to 13-year olds begin to wrestle with questions of identity, purpose, and place. They wonder, "Who am I?" "Why am I here?" "Where do I belong?" At Glow, we want to come alongside them, to embody the answer to these questions, speaking and acting in such a way that kids know they are loved and valued, the work of their hands has significance, and they are not alone.

Will there be any special guests?

Yes! Glow workshops will be led by gifted and experienced artisans, some locally-centered, some nationally-known. Included among these are singer-songwriter Randall Goodgame, musician/recording artist Jason Gray, author and singer-songwriter Andrew Peterson, and author S.D. Smith.

General info:

Date: Saturday, September 5, 2015, 8:00am-Noon (Brunch is included)

  • Children (8 to 13-years old) - Cost: $45 per child ($50 after 8/24)
  • Parent/Adult Sponsors - Cost: $0 (one per each registered child, recommended minimum: one adult per five children)

There will be two, 75-minute main sessions offered: one led by musicians Randall Goodgame & Jason Gray, and one led by authors Andrew Peterson & S.D. Smith.

There will be multiple, 35-minute workshops offered. These will range from art to athletics, fishing, video production, dance, and more.

Registration includes:

  • Admission to 1 main session and 3 workshops OR admission to 2 main sessions and 1 workshop.
  • Glow wristband
